This unit performs respectably. I am thoroughly impressed with this device. 1st off all of the settings are fully customizable. You can change battery types, charge rates, charge types, prefered power sources for power generation, charging, or send back to the grid. The options are amazing and its capabilities are far to many to list.
Personally, I have a smaller 200ah 48v battery setup. I charge my batteries and then upload to the grid. My energy company pays me at this point several hours a day. My batteries are there for backup power in case the mains fail. (Storms typically)
I have successfully started off battery and ran a 5hp compressor off of this for 7 minutes, until tank was full. It runs all of my electronics and the sine wave is pretty close to perfect. The power from this is more stable and consistent then my power company, loads dont dim lights nearly as much. I have a 200A service with 2ga feeds incoming. My sunpow gets 240v ac 6ga on a 50a breaker, feeds the house with another 6ga. Dc side 1ga from bat to bat and from group of batteries to unit, fused at 250a. Currently 230v ish, 8ga from solar panels about 3000watts.
10k inverter starts and runs my loads very impressively. Ive had several other inverters and they dont have the start capabilities this does. I love the split phase, it runs my smaller tig and mig welders from battery, also can support my central air. My batteries are no where enough for long runs, i just need to add more. This is still a work in progress, but the sunsmart 10k seems to handle everything its rated for. I just added the wifi module and it gives you graphs and data retention about what its done. It updates/refreshes rather often and breaks it down much better than the display. I should say all the info is available on the built in display but the screen is limited. The app does well, at displaying things graphically you couldnt on the devices screen. Overall, this thing rocks once you get it going. This is capable of strapping/teaming multiple units together if you need more. 10k constant with 20k start is plenty for most of my needs. Ive used 3 other brands over the last 20yrs and this is by far the best at everything. Even tech support is available.
