He only cleans the fans a few times a year. The unit is mounted at eye level next to the refrigerator, so daily checks are easy. The menus took a little time to learn, but once familiar, everyday use felt intuitive.
He once had a fault code he could not solve alone. Our support replied within 1–2 days, and the cause was his old SLA battery bank. After replacing the batteries, the all-in-one solar inverter worked normally again.
Solar System Installation of Marshall’s Off-Grid Tiny Home
Marshall’s solar system installation shows what an off-grid tiny home really needs: smart use of space and better heat management.

His solar array is also designed for trailer life. The Canadian Solar panels are not mounted flat on the roof. Instead, they sit on multiple steel ladder racks about 6 inches above the roof. For the next expansion, he plans to mount the new future solar panels on the trailer sides, with a swing-up design so they can rise to the same level as the roof panels. That way he can add more solar capacity without giving up too much clearance or changing the overall trailer structure.
Solar Expansion Plan: Adding a 140A MPPT Charge Controller
As his power and solar needs grew, Marshall did not replace the whole inverter right away. Instead, he chose a more cost-effective solar system expansion plan.
He originally connected 6 Canadian Solar 325W panels in series to his PowMr POW-LVM5K-48V. Later he added 4 Future Solar 360W panels, so about 10 panels in series were feeding the all-in-one. He also plans to add 2 more Future Solar 360W panels. If all of them stayed on the original unit, the array would exceed the inverter’s max PV input.
So on July 13, 2026, he ordered the PowMr POW-48140A-48V-YF, a 140A / 500V PV solar charge controller. His planned wiring is:
- 6S Canadian Solar 325W→ stay on the POW-LVM5K-48V
- 6S Future Solar 360W→ go to the POW-48140A-48V-YF
He considered upgrading to a 10kW split-phase hybrid solar inverter with dual MPPT, but adding this 140A MPPT solar charge controller was more affordable and let him keep the existing 5kW all-in-one solar inverter. After installation, he also plans to buy a PowMr WiFi modulefor easier monitoring of his off-grid tiny home solar system.
