Stian’s Energy System Setup
Stian’s energy system is built around the PowMr 10.2kWh All-in-One Inverter (POW-HVM10.2M), a single-phase, grid-tie and off-grid inverter with the following key specifications:
- Rated Power: 10.2kW AC output, supporting full-house loads including heat pumps and hot water heaters.
- DC Input Voltage Range: 360–550V, compatible with his 18 × 410W solar panels in series configuration.
- Maximum PV Array Power: 14.8kW, allowing high-efficiency energy harvest even under cloudy conditions.
- MPPT Channels: 2 independent MPPTs, each capable of handling up to 7.4kW PV input for optimized solar tracking.
- Battery Compatibility: Supports 48V LiFePO4 batteries with flexible charge/discharge settings.
For energy storage, Stian uses PowMr 100Ah 51.2V LiFePO4 Batteries (POW-LIO48100-16S), featuring:
- Nominal Capacity: 100Ah / 5.12kWh per battery module.
- Nominal Voltage: 51.2V, fully compatible with the All-in-One inverter.
- Battery Management System (BMS): Ensures safe charging/discharging, overvoltage, overcurrent, and temperature protection.
- Expandable Storage: Currently using 10kWh batteries, with an additional 100Ah battery planned to reach 20kWh total storage.
Energy Upgrade Plans
Stian plans to expand his energy storage by adding an additional 100Ah PowMr wall battery, bringing his total storage capacity to 20kWh. While his current setup already delivers over 30kWh per day in April, he also intends to install a 6.2kWh inverter and additional solar strings, allowing him to increase the system’s potential solar input to over 16kW.
This expansion will ensure reliable energy supply during the long, low-sunlight winter months in northern Sweden, while maintaining full off-grid independence and maximizing the efficiency of his solar and power inverter system.
