Robust 10kW Solar Setup with Batteries for a High-Demand Home in the U.S.

10kw split phase solar power system for high energy demand home

Project Details

George Neal, from the United States, has installed a solar system featuring the POW-SunSmart 10K, connected to 6kW of solar power and 25.6kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage. The system efficiently powers his home, including energy-intensive appliances like a heat pump AC, heat pump water heater, microwave, and heat pump dryer, with one exception: when operating in SBU mode, the inverter does not automatically switch back to solar/battery power after using utility power unless the utility breaker is momentarily switched off. Despite this issue, the system has proven reliable, replacing a pair of smaller Growatt 3K inverters that could not meet his household's energy demands.

Product Features

POW-SunSmart 10K: This hybrid inverter boasts a 110V/220V split phase configuration, alongside an integrated BMS that facilitates seamless communication with PowMr lithium batteries and automatic activation. It is equipped with 2 built-in MPPT solar charge controllers, each boasting 99.9% efficiency and supporting a maximum PV input current of 22A in a single circuit. Additionally, it features Peak Shaving & Valley Filling functionality.
