Installation

Please read this manual carefully and familiarize yourself with the installation procedures before installation.

Installation Safety

The unit should be installed in a well-ventilated, cool, and dry environment. Make sure the fans of the unit and the ventilation holes are not blocked.

Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, snow, or liquids of any type.

Never install the inverter in a sealed enclosure with flooded batteries. Gas can accumulate and there is a risk of explosion.

Do not install the inverter in the same compartment as the battery bank because it could serve as a potential fire hazard.

Location Recommendations

Ensure installation follows the following guidelines:

  1. Cool, dry, well-ventilated area — Heat is the worst enemy for electronic equipment.Inverters must be in an area where the fans are not blocked or where they are not exposed directly to the sun. They should be in an area free of any kind of moisture and allow for clearance of at least 8” around the unit to provide adequate ventilation.
  2. Protection against fire hazard — the unit should be away from any flammable material, liquids, or any other combustible material. The unit can spark and the consequences could be severe.
  3. Close proximity to battery bank—prevent excessive voltage drop by keeping the unit close to the battery bank and having a properly sized wire going from the battery bank to the inverter.
  4. Limiting electromagnetic interference (EMI) — ensure the inverter is firmly grounded to a building, vehicle, or earth grounded. Keep the inverter away from EMI receptors such as TVs, radios, and other audio/visual electronics to prevent damage/interference to the equipment.

Other Precautions:

  • When installing the battery, be very careful, when installing lead-acid liquid batteries, you should wear protective glasses, once in contact with battery acid, please wash with water in time.
  • Avoid placing metal objects near the battery to prevent short circuits in the battery.
  • Acid gas may be generated when the battery is charged so ensure good ventilation around the environment.
  • Incorrect or improper connection points and corroded wires can cause great heat to melt the wire insulation, burning surrounding materials, and even cause fire, so ensure that the connection is tightened
  • It is best to avoid mobile applications when the wire shakes and cause the connection head loose. Outdoor installation should avoid direct sunlight and rain, snow.
  • Do not install the solar inverter in harsh environments such as damp, greasy, flammable and explosive areas or where dust accumulation is high.
  • The municipal electrical input and AC output are high voltage, do not touch the wiring. Do not touch the unit when the fan is working.
  • To avoid damage, do not use more than one (in parallel) input AC power supply.

Please Note: While the Solar inverter has fans for cooling, this installation location optimal for natural convection cooling will improve the overall efficiency

Powerful all in one unit for Van Conversion

Just received the unit and haven’t used it yet. Feels sturdy and well assembled. I will be installing it in a van conversion soon and will update after I get it live.
I will have 700watts of solar on van roof and 277ah lifpo4 battery.

Update:
It's all installed and running fine.
In the off-grid mode, I loaded up to 2000watts (lights/fan/electric water heater) and it had no issue. The cooling fans will kick on at that load level which do contribute a bit of noise.
It is important to follow the clearances for installation for cooling, especially if the unit is mounted in a warmer location and/or will be loaded up heavily with electric loads.
The next day when the sun comes up it recharges the bank from the solar.
I have my van shore power connection wired directly to this unit. When I'm plugged into shore power it tops off the batteries if needed and provides any AC and DC power needed for loads.
These settings are all adjustable which is great.

Excellent solution for running off of multiple power supplies

Love it! You can configure it how you want, it was pretty easy to install (for those who are capable). Seams to be of good quality and I love the way it works.

Just got this running

Just got this running in a class A RV couples with 206AH battery and 3 200W panels. Very pleased with unit, operation and price. My only complaint is the inverter runs off the battery while the panels charge the battery which causes slight discharge/charge cycles of the battery. I have not yet contacted supplier for advice, I may update this review once I have.

I was up and running in 3 hours

I barely know what I’m doing with all this stuff and even I got my solar setup in 3 hours with this. It’s incredibly simple to setup. Got my generator and solar panels hooked up to a 30amp outlet that my travel trailer plugs into and it runs everything! Had the batteries hooked up wrong and the error code told me about it. Fixed it and was good to go!

Easy installation

Very easy to install. Appears to be pretty good quality so far. It has operated well in a hot shed where it is installed. I was worried about temperatures but it is functioning well. I recommend hooking up atleast 800 watts of solar intially. I only have 400 watts currently. Its powering the refrigerator, TV and associated electronics. Very pleased with my results so far.

Nice hybrid

Works well.I have 6 200 watt panels and 2 200 amph battery’s. It’s a good start but probably half what is needed to work at good capacity.

Four Months In and I'm Happy

This works beautifully. There is a learning curve to get all the settings right but after you do, you can basically forget about it. Minus the air conditioners, I'm running my destination trailer full-time, day and night using this unit, a 4kw lithium battery and eight 100w solar panels. There are two things I learned that are important to me, because I am not at my camp most of the time and I leave food in the refrigerator. First, keep the bugs out. This was in open air for a while and a bee got in and fried on the cooling fan terminals. If either of the fans stop working the system shuts down and will not restart. This is the only official thing that can happen where it won't restart. Lost my ice cream and frozen pizza over that lesson. I removed the bee and it reset easily. Second, a supplemental generator needs to be an "inverter generator". The system is sensitive to voltage. You wouldn't know it but your old (or cheap new) non-inverter generator will have dips in voltage when a load is applied. This system will not use the power from the generator if it dips below 90v and it will not try to use the generator again until you reset it. I borrowed an inverter generator half the size of my generator and it worked perfectly, ran the camper and charged the batteries while I was using air conditioning. Keep the manual handy; you will use it a lot! P.S. if you're wondering about power this will run my A.C. along with the little odds and ends in the camper but it struggles a little trying to rung the A.C. and microwave or clothes washer. I'll probably upgrade next year because I'm spoiled, but I really don't need anything bigger.
